Accounts Payable Supervisor Immediate Start
Location: London (City)
Rate: £250 - £275 per day
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our team on an immediate start basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our Accounts Payable (AP) function, leveraging SAP systems (including SAP S/4HANA) and ERP platforms to drive efficiency and accuracy. The successful candidate will lead a team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, promoting a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and high performance.
- Oversee daily AP operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements.
- Maintain and manage SAP systems (SAP S/4HANA) and other ERP platforms to track and review all AP transactions.
- Develop and implement internal controls and policies to mitigate risk and enhance accuracy.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies through proactive communication with internal teams and external vendors.
- Act as the subject matter expert on SAP S/4HANA and other AP-related systems, providing training and support to team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve payment efficiencies.
- Prepare monthly AP reports, including metrics and analysis, to support leadership decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, supplier agreements, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, including 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Proficient in SAP (including SAP S/4HANA) and other ERP systems, with a strong understanding of AP modules.
- Experience leading system upgrades, implementations, or optimization projects within SAP/ERP environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools/software.
Day-to-Day
- Supervise and mentor the AP team, providing clear direction and regular feedback.
- Review and process high-volume transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and payments, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to align operational goals and timelines.
- Generate and review detailed reports on AP metrics and key accounts.
- Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with audit standards.
- Oversee vendor onboarding into the SAP/ERP system, ensuring all documentation is complete.
- Troubleshoot system issues and collaborate with IT to implement fixes or updates.
- Drive automation and process enhancements, implementing innovative solutions.
