Property Accounts Payable Team Leader
12 Fixed Term Contract
Based in Solihull
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our friendly finance team based in our Solihull office. Leading a small team of two other people, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable team for property accounts ensuring that all property related payments are processed on time and all appropriate paperwork is received, is accurate and processed through in a timely manner to our finance system. You will also assist the Property Accountant with month end accrual and prepayment posting and balance sheet completion.
What you will be doing

Overseeing the accurate processing of rent, service charges, business rates, BID levy charges, property insurance invoices and credit notes and ad hoc property costs. Including verifying invoices are processed correctly before they are uploaded.

Responsible for the property accounts weekly payment proposals. Ensure all due invoices are picked up in the weekly payment and ensuring internal approvals have been given. Includes service charge, insurance, BID Levy and ad hoc property costs.

Responsible for property accounts payments which includes the monthly rent payments, weekly service charge, insurance and turnover rent payments and ad hoc payment requests.

Responsible for the month end balance sheets for the property aged creditors for all ledgers.

Monitoring of property aged creditor balances highlighting any missing documents that need requesting or any refunds that need to be chased and providing commentary for aged balances over 90 days.

Dealing with supplier queries - Reviewing queries flagged from team and reconciling accounts to supplier transaction histories to resolve queries on account.

Responsible for the outstanding tax invoice month end balance sheet and identifying outstanding tax invoices for the team.

Responsible for approving new account and amendment requests ensuring the rent database is up-dated with the latest information and MRI Horizon is up-dated with the new supplier and landlord details.

Liaising with our 3rd party agents, for service charge and property insurance.

Liaising with the Estates team and other finance personnel on a regular basis, to resolve supplier queries, internal queries etc.

Responsible for service charge month end which includes posting of accruals and prepayments relating to service charge and explaining any differences to budget.

Resolving balance sheet values/queries relating to service charges and escalating queries to Property Accountant.
What we need from you
Essential
- Working knowledge of an Accounts Payable environment.
- Strong excel skills to include VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
Desirable
- Team leader experience.
- Experience of payment processing.
