Accounts Payable Team Leader – EMEA
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Team Leader – EMEA to join our growing Shared Service Centre in Heywood.
This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on people management, coaching and team development. You will lead the day-to-day activities of an Accounts Payable team, ensuring colleagues are supported, workloads are effectively managed and services are delivered accurately and on time.
You will also support the continued transition and stabilisation of AP activities within the UK Shared Service Centre and help create a positive culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Working Hours
Monday - Friday 37.5 hours/week. Flexible working hours with the ability to start between 7am-10am and finish between 3pm-6pm.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Accounts Payable specialists.
- Manage daily workloads, priorities and work queues.
- Hold regular one-to-ones and support individual development and training.
- Coordinate onboarding, training and cross-training within the team.
- Monitor AP performance, backlogs and service levels.
- Support the team with invoice, supplier and payment-related queries and escalations.
- Ensure processes, procedures and internal controls are followed consistently.
- Promote teamwork, accountability and a positive working environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve ways of working and support implementation of process improvements.

What We’re Looking For
- Previous Accounts Payable or P2P experience.
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
- Strong people-management, coaching and communication skills.
- A supportive and approachable leadership style.
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage priorities in a busy environment.
- Experience with ERP/AP systems; Workday or AppZen experience would be an advantage.
- Good Excel skills.
- Fluent English; additional European languages would be an advantage.
