About the Role
As an Accounts Payable Team Member, you’ll be part of our BGUK Finance Operations team, helping to ensure our suppliers are paid accurately and on time. You’ll play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting business areas, and identifying opportunities for improvement. It’s a role that combines precision, problem-solving, and collaboration – all essential to making health happen behind the scenes.
How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen
In this role, you’ll:
- Process supplier invoices received from various sources ensuring that they are accurately, efficiently, and promptly entered onto the system
- Ensure all new and updated supplier maintenance follows the agreed governance procedure
- Ensure suppliers are paid in accordance with their contractual terms and Bupa’s guidelines to improve PPR
- Proactively identify areas for potential savings and create and fulfil ways of bringing about actions to realise these savings through varied methods
- Verify the legality of requests received and challenge documentation that does not comply to Bupa policy
- Drive and assist with process and system enhancements and projects taking a lean approach at all times
- Perform daily audit reports to minimise risk and maintain robust controls
- Communicate effectively with all key stakeholders, creating a strong supporting relationship with all business areas to promote best business practice
- Identify areas of the business that are having problems with any aspect of the e-Purchasing system or associated processes (e.g. receipting) and support and advise them to mitigate these problems and ensure that there is no operational impact
- Manage own workload to a consistently high standard and work collaboratively with wider team

Key Skills/Qualifications Required
We’re looking for someone who’s detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about delivering great service.
- Experience within an accounts payable role is required
- Strong numerical skills and the ability to analyse data from multiple sources
- A meticulous approach and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure
- A can-do attitude and desire to improve processes and customer service
- Confidence in communicating with stakeholders at all levels
- High energy and enthusiasm
- A professional telephone manner and strong customer service ethic
- Advanced PC skills
