Accounts Payable Transformation Manager
Forge Talent are supporting a fast-growing, global ecommerce business with a newly created opportunity for an Accounts Payable Transformation Manager.
About the Role
This is a business-critical role that will take full responsibility for leading the end-to-end transformation of the Accounts Payable function during a period of rapid business growth.
You will manage and train the team to ensure that the department's efficiency is maintained whilst setting future standard procedures.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced transformation specialist who has proven experience of driving enhancements in a larger business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the AP transformation roadmap, aligning priorities with the senior finance team and wider business strategy.
- Identify and prioritise process improvement opportunities across all areas of AP, including invoice processing, vendor management, payment runs, and reconciliation.
- Lead the end-to-end redesign of AP processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and control.
- Identify and implement automation and digital solutions compatible with NetSuite to streamline invoice processing, approvals, and payment workflows.
- Identify, evaluate, and embed AI tools into AP workflows, upskilling the team to adopt them confidently and sustainably.
- Manage the AP team for the duration of the contract, providing day-to-day leadership, support, and direction.
- Align the team's personal development plans to the transformation objectives and broader Finance department goals.
- Design and document comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all key AP processes, ensuring they are clear, practical, and fit for a scaling business.
- Establish robust controls and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the implementation of approved process changes, managing stakeholder communication and securing confidence from the wider business.
- Develop a detailed succession plan for the AP function to sustain improvements.

Requirements
Required Experience:
- Proven experience of leading an AP Transformation project within a larger business environment.
- Experience of identifying and embedding AI tools, ensuring increased efficiency.
- Be a subject matter expert in the end-to-end AP and PTP process.
- Full working knowledge of NetSuite is essential.
- Proven experience of implementing structured change plans to build scalable, future-ready finance operations.
- Experience of managing a transformation project within a retail or ecommerce business is highly advantageous.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team to adapt to new processes and ways of working.
- An analytical and detail-focused mentality and approach to data.
- Strong SOP documentation and process mapping skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and change leadership skills.
