Duration: 12 months contract

Work Type: Part time (20 Hours a week) (Hybrid)

Pay Rate: 13.54 GBP per hour inside IR 35 (PAYE)

About the Role

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Assistant to support the finance team with customer billing, payment processing, account reconciliation, credit control, and financial reporting. The role will involve maintaining accurate customer accounts, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate, process, and send customer invoices accurately and on time.
  • Monitor outstanding and overdue customer accounts.
  • Follow up with customers regarding outstanding payments.
  • Assist with credit control and collection activities.
  • Investigate and resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain and create accurate customer account records.
  • Process and reconcile customer transactions.
  • Support intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Assist with VAT-related activities and documentation.
  • Prepare financial reports and provide accurate data for management reporting.
  • Work closely with internal teams and customers to resolve account-related queries.
  • Ensure financial records are accurate and maintained in line with company procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Accounts Assistant, or a similar finance role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving skills, particularly when resolving payment discrepancies and account queries.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider finance team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with invoicing, credit control, reconciliations, and customer accounts.
  • Knowledge of VAT and intercompany transactions.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume accounts environment.
  • Finance or accounting qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
