Accounts Receivable Assistant – Temporary Contract

Location: London (Hybrid, 3 days in office)

Contract: Initial Temporary Assignment

We are working with an established international financial services business looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Receivable / Finance Associate to support its Finance team on an initial temporary basis.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in accounts receivable, sales ledger management, and financial reconciliations, who is comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales ledger, including processing sales invoices and ensuring accurate VAT treatment.
  • Oversee client recharges and support timely collection of outstanding payments.
  • Liaise with operational teams and clients to resolve invoice queries and manage debt-related matters.
  • Reconcile financial data across accounting and banking systems.
  • Manage the Finance inbox and respond to internal and external queries.
  • Assist with VAT reporting, monthly management accounts, and audit preparation.
  • Support improvements to existing finance processes and procedures.
  • Provide additional support across the Finance team as required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in Accounts Receivable / Sales Ledger, ideally within an international business.
  • Good understanding of VAT, including international VAT treatment.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with stakeholders across different departments.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with the confidence to challenge and resolve outstanding payment issues.
