Finance Manager - Accounts Receivable

Contract: 3-6 months FTC

Location: London

Direct reports: 2

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to join a leading consumer and retail business in London.

This is a key role within the finance function and will act as the main point of contact for all Accounts Receivable-related matters. You will lead a team of two Accounts Receivable Finance Analysts, with two Finance Assistants reporting into them.

The AR function covers a broad and high-volume operation across direct channels, including stores and online, as well as partner channels such as concessions, marketplaces, and wholesale.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced AR professional who enjoys combining people leadership, operational ownership, process improvement, and change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Accounts Receivable team, managing performance and objectives.
  • Oversee AR across stores, online, concessions, marketplaces, and wholesale.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and accurate, timely processing.
  • Monitor aged debt, resolving late, short, and failed payments.
  • Manage complex debtor reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Drive process improvements, system efficiencies, and automation.
  • Improve weekly/monthly reporting and debtor analysis.
  • Manage system/process changes while maintaining priorities and service levels.
  • Oversee sales, cash receipt, and multi-currency bank reconciliations.
  • Build relationships with partners, banks, payment providers, and auditors.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in consumer, retail, or high-volume accounting.
  • Proven experience managing and developing an AR/finance team.
  • Strong Accounts Receivable and credit control expertise.
  • Experience handling high-volume financial data and multiple sales channels.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and ability to resolve complex discrepancies.
  • Track record of improving processes, systems, and automation.
  • Strong financial controls, reporting, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and ability to handle change.
