Billing & Credit Control Executive, Technology, London, £35-40,000
We’re looking for an organised, proactive Billing & Credit Control Executive to join a growing technology business with an international customer base.
This is a hands-on role within a small, collaborative finance team, with responsibility for managing invoicing and credit control across multiple businesses. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate billing, timely cash collection and effective working capital management.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and issue accurate, timely invoices for subscriptions, renewals, services and usage.
- Check invoices against contracts, orders and CRM records, ensuring VAT and sales tax are applied correctly.
- Manage the aged debtor ledger, proactively chasing overdue payments by phone and email.
- Build strong relationships with customers and their accounts payable teams to support timely payment.
- Resolve billing queries and disputes, issue credit notes and agree payment plans where appropriate.
- Allocate and reconcile customer receipts across multiple entities.
- Produce aged debt and cash collection reports, supporting month-end reconciliations and bad debt reporting.
- Assist with customer onboarding, credit checks and audit requests.
- Identify opportunities to improve billing, collections and finance processes through better systems and automation.

About you
- At least two years’ experience in accounts receivable, billing or credit control.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
- Confident, professional communication skills, with the ability to manage customer queries and payment discussions effectively.
- Good Excel skills and experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or NetSuite.
- Able to manage competing priorities across multiple entities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, organised and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable experience:
- Experience in a SaaS, software or subscription-based business.
- Working with US customers, including sales tax and international collections.
- Multi-entity or multi-currency accounting.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Avalara or accounts receivable automation tools.
- Studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA.
