Accounts Senior

Barnstaple
£30,000 - £40,000 dependant on experience
Hybrid working
Monday to Friday Core Office Hours (35 hours per week)

Outsource UK are recruiting for an Accounts Senior to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Barnstaple. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to broaden their expertise, work closely with a varied client portfolio, and continue developing their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will work alongside managers, partners, and clients across a wide range of sectors, taking ownership of client accounts while also supporting and mentoring junior team members.

The Role

As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing a varied workload and delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to a diverse client base including sole traders, partnerships, charities, and limited companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities, and limited companies
  • Prepare corporation tax returns and computations
  • Prepare personal tax returns and computations
  • Complete VAT returns and assist with client queries
  • Liaise directly with clients to resolve accounting and tax-related matters
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior members of the team
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales

About You:

  • ACA/ACCA part-qualified, currently studying towards a professional qualification, or AAT qualified
  • 2-3 years' experience within an accountancy practice environment
  • Experience preparing accounts and tax returns for a range of clients
  • Strong IT skills with experience using accounting software such as IRIS, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
  • Ability to manage your own workload and work effectively as part of a team
