Are you an ambitious accountancy professional looking to build on your practice experience and develop your skills across a varied client portfolio?
Our client, a well-established and growing business advisory and accountancy practice, is seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior to join their London West End team on a permanent, hybrid basis.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who is exam qualified (or working towards it) and ready to take on greater responsibility within a supportive, collaborative environment where professional development is genuinely valued.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing financial statements, VAT returns, and management accounts for a portfolio of clients
- Producing accurate and well-structured working paper files in support of accounts preparation
- Applying working knowledge of Income Tax and VAT to client assignments
- Collaborating with senior team members to ensure client deliverables are met within agreed timelines and budgets
- Delivering work to manager and partner review standard, clearly highlighting any issues and proposing practical solutions
- Supporting Partners in client meetings when required
- Reviewing WIP and debtors with profitability in mind
- Contributing to team workflow improvements and wider business initiatives
- Providing guidance and support to more junior colleagues
- Keeping technical knowledge current and meeting CPD requirements

What We're Looking For
- ACCA/ACA part-qualified
- At least 2 years' experience in accounts preparation and VAT return assignments within an accountancy practice
- Hands-on working knowledge of Xero, VT, and CCH Central
- Good understanding of current accounting standards and recent developments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective client relationships
- Well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines
- High attention to detail and a consistent focus on quality and accuracy
- Able to work independently and as an effective member of a wider team
- Professional, discreet, and committed to ethical standards and confidentiality
Nice to Have
- Experience assisting in client-facing meetings
- Familiarity with WIP monitoring and debtor management processes
