Description

Based in our friendly Kensal Rise office, this is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit team that recently became part of Simmons Gainsford! While you’ll enjoy the supportive feel and local client relationships of a smaller office, you’ll also benefit from being part of a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited companies
  • Preparing corporation tax computations and CT600 returns
  • Producing management accounts for a range of clients
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
  • Assisting with HMRC enquiries and correspondence
  • Maintaining statutory records and company registers
  • Preparing profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and trial balances
  • Drafting reports on financial statements, business performance, systems and internal controls
  • Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact
  • Working closely with managers and keeping them informed of client developments and any technical matters

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with clients, has a proactive approach and is keen to continue building their career in accountancy.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working in an accountancy practice in a similar role
  • Be studying towards, or keen to continue studying, AAT, ACA or ACCA
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Experience using cloud accounting software such as Caseware, Inflo, Xero, Sage or QuickBooks (desirable)
  • Prior experience in audit is desirable
