Sellick Partnership is working with a well-regarded accountancy practice in Bury who are looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join their team permanently. The practice is part of a wider group with ambitious growth plans and this role has been created to support an expanding client base. It's a genuine opportunity for someone who wants to get stuck in from day one and build towards managing their own portfolio over time.
Overview of the Accounts Senior role:
You will be joining a small, close-knit team of seven, working on a varied mix of accounts, tax and compliance work for a broad range of clients. The role is hands-on from the start, and the practice needs someone who can contribute quickly rather than spend months getting up to speed. They're open to candidates at different stages of their careers, including those still working toward their qualifications.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
