A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a lovely, relaxed independent accountancy practice based in Herne Bay.
This is a varied general practice position where you will manage a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, providing a broad range of accounting and advisory services. The firm offers a friendly, supportive working environment with an excellent reputation and a genuinely relaxed culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns
- Completing bookkeeping and VAT returns
- Managing a varied portfolio of owner-managed business clients
- Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
- Supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members where appropriate

Requirements:
- Have experience working within an accountancy practice
- Be AAT, ACA, or ACCA qualified, part qualified, or qualified by experience
- Have a strong understanding of accounts preparation, tax, bookkeeping, and VAT
- Be confident communicating directly with clients
- Have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Enjoy working within a friendly, collaborative environment
