Accounts Senior
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 DOE
Location: Cwmbran | Full-time
Are you an experienced Accounts Senior looking to take the next step in your career within a supportive and friendly accountancy practice?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established firm with a varied and interesting client portfolio, including small companies, sole traders and partnerships. You’ll play an important role in delivering a high-quality service to clients whilst continuing to develop your technical skills and career within the practice.
We’re keen to hear from candidates who are fully qualified, part-qualified/almost qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE). The key initial requirements are strong practical experience within an accountancy practice, the ability to confidently deal with a varied portfolio of clients and a genuine desire to progress your career.

The Role
We are seeking a technically strong Accounts Senior who is looking to progress to the rank of Client Manager over the next few years. You will work in close proximity with the Firm’s Directors, providing a supporting role whilst at the same time gaining invaluable experience to enhance both your technical skillset and client management capabilities – the overall intention being that you will develop the necessary expertise to, one day, manage your own client portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing accounts for small companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Assisting with bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
- Preparing Corporation Tax and Income Tax returns
- Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting queries
- Working closely with colleagues to deliver a professional, high-quality service
- Managing your workload effectively to meet deadlines and client requirements

About You
We’re looking for an experienced practice professional who is confident working across a diverse client base and has a strong grounding in accounts and tax compliance.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
- Strong experience in accounts preparation
- Experience working with sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping and tax compliance
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive, professional and client-focused approach
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification – fully qualified, part-qualified/almost qualified, or QBE candidates will all be considered
