I am delighted to be partnering with a long-established, independent accountancy practice in Bristol to recruit an experienced Accounts Senior. This highly respected firm has built an excellent reputation across the South West, providing a personalised and proactive service to a loyal and diverse client base. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a motivated Accounts Senior to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career within a well-established independent practice that genuinely values its employees and offers a positive working environment.
The Role
As an Accounts Senior, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients from a variety of sectors, supporting them with their accounting and compliance requirements whilst building strong professional relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
- Preparing management accounts and financial reports.
- Reviewing and preparing VAT returns.
- Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax compliance work.
- Liaising directly with clients and providing day-to-day accounting support.
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate.
- Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

About You
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
- AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience.
- Strong accounts preparation experience.
- Good working knowledge of accounting software, including cloud-based systems such as Xero and QuickBooks.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive and professional approach to work.
