About the Role

If you're recently qualified and ready to take genuine ownership of a varied financial reporting portfolio, this could be exactly the right move.

Our client is a well-regarded professional services firm with a dedicated Financial Reporting Team sitting at the heart of its wider accounts service line. Right now, the team focuses on preparing high-quality accounts that support the firm's audit function. But this is a team on the move. With plans already in place to take the offering to market, you'll be joining at a genuinely exciting moment, with the opportunity to work on larger, more complex external assignments and engage directly with external auditors as that growth unfolds.

This is a technically demanding role in a fast-paced environment, and it's well suited to someone who takes pride in the quality of their work, enjoys developing others, and is ready to step into a position of real responsibility.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing a portfolio of financial reporting assignments end-to-end, maintaining high technical standards and keeping workflows on track
  • Working closely with audit teams, partners, and other service lines to ensure smooth, timely delivery across all assignments
  • Acting as a key point of contact for nominated clients and audit teams on financial reporting matters
  • Preparing, reviewing, and delegating assignments in line with agreed budgets and internal quality standards
  • Tackling larger and more complex accounts, including consolidations, and researching technical issues as they arise, escalating where appropriate
  • Supervising, supporting, and reviewing the work of semi-seniors, assistants, and offshore colleagues
  • Managing multiple deadlines simultaneously, keeping stakeholders well informed and expectations well managed
  • Ensuring all files are complete, compliant, and review-ready in line with documentation and internal hygiene standards
  • Addressing review points raised by managers, directors, partners, and audit teams in a timely and thorough manner
  • Coaching junior team members through clear task planning, structured feedback, and on-the-job guidance
  • Contributing to service line growth through collaborative working and involvement in business development activity

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
