Outsource UK are recruiting for an Accounts Senior to join a growing and well-established accountancy practice in Preston. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Working closely with managers, partners, and clients, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio while supporting the development of junior team members. The role offers exposure to a broad range of clients and the opportunity to further develop your technical and client-facing skills within a busy general practice setting.

The Role

As an Accounts Senior, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in line with relevant accounting standards
  • Prepare draft corporation tax computations and supporting schedules
  • Prepare schedules for tax returns
  • Complete VAT returns and support Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
  • Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide ongoing support
  • Review work completed by junior team members
  • Assist with the development and mentoring of junior staff
  • Support managers with departmental responsibilities and client delivery
  • Assist in managing outsourced accounting functions where required
  • Deliver software training and support to clients
  • Ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time, and within budget

About You:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, currently studying, or qualified by experience
  • Solid experience within an accountancy practice environment
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge across a range of client types
  • Experience using accounting software such as Xero and IRIS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
