An exciting opportunity has arisen with a well-established and highly regarded independent accountancy and business advisory firm based in the North West. Renowned for providing trusted advice to owner-managed businesses, SMEs and entrepreneurial clients, the firm has built a strong reputation for delivering a personalised and commercially focused service.
As part of its continued growth strategy, the firm is seeking an ambitious Accounts Senior Manager or Director to join the leadership team. Whilst there is an established portfolio of existing clients to inherit, the firm is keen to appoint a commercially driven individual who enjoys developing relationships, winning new business and helping to shape the future growth of the practice.
This represents a genuine opportunity to become a key figure within the organisation and play an influential role in the firm's future succession and senior leadership plans.
Your new role
As Accounts Senior Manager / Director, you will take responsibility for managing a substantial portfolio of clients whilst supporting the ongoing development and growth of the firm's accounts and advisory offering.
Working closely with the Partners, you will act as a trusted adviser to clients, lead and develop team members, and identify opportunities to expand existing relationships and generate new business opportunities.

- Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and corporate clients.
- Providing strategic accounting, business advisory and commercial guidance.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships across the region.
- Identifying opportunities to grow service lines and expand client engagements.
- Leading networking and business development activities.
- Winning new work and contributing to the firm's growth strategy.
- Reviewing statutory accounts and overseeing high-quality service delivery.
- Developing and mentoring managers and junior team members.
- Working alongside the Partners on strategic planning and future business initiatives.
- Contributing towards the long-term leadership and succession plans of the practice.
What you'll need to succeed
You will also demonstrate:
- Significant experience managing client portfolios within practice.
- Strong technical accounting and advisory expertise.
- Proven business development and client relationship management skills.
- Experience winning new work, generating referrals and developing professional networks.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities.
- Previous leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ambition to play a strategic role within a growing business.
