The Opportunity
As an Accounts Senior, you'll take ownership of a varied client portfolio, delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful advice and exceptional client service. You'll work with businesses across a range of sectors, helping them navigate their accounting requirements while supporting the development of junior team members. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact, broaden your technical expertise and build a rewarding career within a growing and ambitious firm.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Accounts Senior, you'll be responsible for:
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders in accordance with FRS102 and UK accounting standards, together with the corporation tax computations and returns.
- Assist with personal tax compliance matters and identify planning opportunities.
- Review bookkeeping and VAT returns prepared by junior team members.
- Support clients with both general advice and software questions.
- Manage budgets and deadlines across the business.
- Attend client meetings and site visits as required.
- Identify opportunities for additional services and business development.
- Mentor, train, and review the work of junior team members

What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
- 3+ years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice.
- ACCA or ACA qualified.
- Hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
- Strong experience in statutory accounts preparation, with a sound technical knowledge of FRS 102 and UK GAAP.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, SUMIF and Pivot Tables.
- Proficient in Sage, Xero, Quickbooks Online and Dext; experience with CCH is advantageous.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to demonstrate initiative.
- Able to work effectively under pressure, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience working across a variety of industry sectors would be beneficial.
- Strong communication and client relationship skills, both in person and over the telephone.
- Organised, diligent and committed to delivering work efficiently while responding promptly to client requests.
- A collaborative team player who supports colleagues and contributes positively to team success.
