Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Senior who is ready to progress towards a Client Manager position.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is already taking on responsibilities beyond their current role and is looking for a genuine pathway to advance their career. You'll join a modern, forward-thinking accountancy practice working with a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed businesses across the UK.

The successful candidate will be confident working independently, managing client relationships, and taking ownership of accounts and tax work while developing into a future leadership role.

The Role

You will manage your own portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted point of contact while delivering high-quality accounts and tax services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing your own portfolio of clients and developing strong relationships
  • Preparing accounts and tax work from start to finish
  • Providing practical advice and support directly to clients
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members
  • Mentoring and supporting developing team members
  • Identifying opportunities to add value to client relationships
  • Developing your client management and business advisory skills

You may currently be working as an Accounts Senior, Senior Accountant, or in a similar role within an accountancy practice and be looking for your next career move.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience within accountancy practice
  • Strong experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
  • Sound knowledge of UK accounts and taxation
  • Experience managing your own client portfolio
  • Confidence in dealing directly with clients
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues
  • Commercial awareness with a proactive approach to client service
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience using Xero and other cloud-based accounting software

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, uses sound judgement, enjoys solving problems, and is passionate about building long-term client relationships.
