Description
At Simmons Gainsford, we are a well-established and leading firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, providing a wide range of accounting, tax, audit and business advisory services to entrepreneurial businesses, owner managed companies and private individuals.

We are looking for an Accounts Supervisor to join our team in Uckfield.
This is a varied role offering responsibility for a portfolio of clients, with a focus on delivering high quality accounts and supporting clients with their day-to-day accounting requirements. You will work closely with managers, partners and colleagues across the firm, while also providing guidance and support to more junior members of the team.
The role would suit someone with a strong practice background who enjoys working directly with clients, has excellent attention to detail and is looking for an opportunity to develop their career within a supportive and growing firm.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day accounting matters
- Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for a range of businesses, including owner-managed and SME clients
- Preparing management accounts and other financial information where required
- Supporting the preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
- Assisting with personal tax matters where relevant
- Reviewing bookkeeping and accounting records to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Providing clients with practice accounting and financial support
- Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
- Supporting managers and partners with more complex client assignments
- Reviewing the work of junior members of the team and providing guidance and feedback
- Assisting with the training and development of junior staff
- Managing workloads and ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice working with a portfolio of clients
- AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and general accounting principles
- Good understanding of UK accounting standards and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Confident communicating with clients and colleagues at all levels
