Accounts Supervisor - Aberdeen

Full-time | Office based, five days per week | Monday–Friday | 40 hours per week

Reporting to: Finance Director

About the role

This newly created role offers the opportunity to join a small finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director and working alongside an Accounts Assistant. You will maintain accurate financial records and support the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function. Although the role is titled Accounts & Finance Supervisor, applications are welcomed from strong Accounts Assistants and Assistant Accountants with relevant practical experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day finance administration using Xero.
  • Maintain accurate sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Process customer invoices, supplier bills, payments, and banking transactions.
  • Complete bank, credit card, and control account reconciliations.
  • Support credit control, including monitoring outstanding and overdue customer balances.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and management reporting.
  • Respond professionally to customer and supplier queries.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.

Skills and experience

  • Strong practical experience using Xero is essential.
  • Good understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, and reconciliations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confidence working with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.

Working arrangements

This is a fully office-based position, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
