With over 125 years of combined team experience, the company offers fast, compliant, and value-driven support for offshore vessel owners and operators from its base in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Role Description

The Accounts Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Aberdeen. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including supervising accounts payable and receivable, monitoring ledgers, and ensuring accurate and timely posting of financial transactions. The Accounts Supervisor prepares regular financial reports, supports month-end and year-end closing activities, and ensures compliance with internal policies and relevant financial regulations. The role involves coordinating with operations and management to reconcile vessel and port-related costs, resolving billing queries, and improving processes to support cost control. The Accounts Supervisor also provides guidance to the accounts team, assists with audits, and contributes to the continuous improvement of financial systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day finance administration using Xero
  • Maintaining accurate sales and purchase ledgers
  • Processing customer invoices, supplier bills, payments, and banking transactions
  • Completing bank, credit card, and control account reconciliations
  • Supporting credit control, including monitoring outstanding and overdue customer balances
  • Supporting month-end and quarter-end processes, including journals, accruals, pre-payments, and management reporting
  • Responding professionally to customer and supplier queries
  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong practical experience using Xero (ESSENTIAL)
  • Good understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, and reconciliations
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident working with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines

Full-time | Monday–Friday | 40 hours per week | Reporting to Finance Director
