Accreditation Manager
We are seeking an experienced leader to drive the growth, quality and impact of Keep Britain Tidy’s UK and international accreditation programmes.
Salary: £58,000 per annum
Location: Wigan or home-based, with extensive UK travel and occasional international travel
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: 9.00am, Monday 28 September 2026

About the role
Keep Britain Tidy is looking for an Accreditation Manager to lead the strategy, growth and successful delivery of its Green Flag Award, Green Key, Blue Flag and Seaside Awards programmes.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will ensure these programmes continue to inspire participation, generate sustainable income and deliver measurable benefits for people, places and the environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing accreditation strategies and business plans
- Driving growth across existing and new markets in the UK and internationally
- Setting and managing programme budgets, income and expenditure
- Developing commercial and partner-funded relationships
- Leading programme managers and related staff
- Overseeing the recruitment, training and support of volunteer judges, assessors and auditors
- Maintaining robust quality assurance, risk management and accreditation processes
- Developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to demonstrate impact
- Acting as a senior contact for government, local authorities, partners and customers
- Representing Keep Britain Tidy through conferences, public speaking and media activity

About you
You will have relevant knowledge, experience or qualifications within the parks and green spaces sector, alongside proven leadership and programme management experience.
You will be an excellent relationship builder, confident working with senior stakeholders from government, public bodies, commercial organisations and the voluntary sector. You will also bring strong budget management, commercial awareness, problem-solving and people management skills.
You will be a confident communicator, able to deliver presentations and media interviews, with strong IT skills across Microsoft 365, CRM systems and databases.
Knowledge of coastal areas, inland waterways or the hospitality sector would be an advantage.
You must hold a full clean UK driving licence with business insurance and be willing to travel, stay away from home and occasionally work evenings and weekends.
