About the team and the role:
We are looking for an experienced Business Development professional to help identify, develop and deliver commercial growth opportunities across eBay’s core marketplace and emerging customer propositions, such as eBay Live.
Working across a broad range of categories and strategic focus areas, you will build relationships with prospective and existing sellers, identify opportunities to grow their business on eBay, and connect them with the right capabilities, solutions and teams across our marketplace.
This role will work closely with Category/Trade/Focus Verticals, Business Development, Operations, Merchant Integration Solutions, Advertising, Horizontal Trading, Marketing, and Risk & Trust.
This will be a 1-year fixed term contract, hybrid role with three days in the office.

What you will accomplish:
- Build and manage a strong acquisition pipeline, identifying businesses and contacts that can bring high-value brands, sellers, and inventory to eBay.
- Acquire strategically important brands and sellers to strengthen selection and support the growth of eBay Live.
- Lead new partners through onboarding and readiness to trade, helping them make effective use of the full trading capabilities of the platform.
- Build and expand relationships with marketplace agencies and service providers to increase seller and inventory acquisition on eBay.
- Work cross-functionally to deliver acquisition plans, support promotional cycles, and contribute to key business performance metrics.
- Continuously improve the team’s operating model and ways of working in response to changes in ecommerce and commerce.
- Strengthen execution and operational capability by introducing new processes and driving business performance improvements.
What you will bring:
- Strong knowledge of ecommerce and marketplaces, including the marketplace ecosystem, competitors, and supporting businesses such as listing management, integrators, logistics, and customer services; Collectibles and/or Fashion experience is required.
- Experience developing new business within a large organization, including leading ecommerce commercial teams and delivering commercial strategies in challenging circumstances.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build and sustain relationships across functions and levels internally and develop mutually beneficial commercial relationships with external businesses.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with an understanding of the needs, challenges, and growth opportunities of brands, sellers, and partners.
- Strategic and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas into clear frameworks and identify root causes.
- A data-driven approach to decision-making, using evidence to evaluate opportunities, guide innovation, and improve business outcomes.
