Help us create a better future, quicker

Are you passionate about staying one step ahead of cyber threats? We're looking for an experienced Active Defence Lead to play a pivotal role in protecting and strengthening our IT and OT environments through intelligence-led cyber defence.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands-on technical role for a cyber security specialist who can turn cyber threat intelligence into meaningful action. You'll use threat insights, vulnerability analysis, detection engineering, and threat-led testing to improve our ability to identify, understand, and respond to emerging risks.

As the technical lead for Active Defence, you'll work across Cyber Operations, MSSP SOC teams, OT Engineering, Architecture, and Corporate Security. Your focus will be on improving visibility across the environment, enhancing detection coverage, and ensuring our defences are aligned to real-world adversary behaviours. You'll help transform intelligence into actionable detections, strengthen monitoring capabilities, and drive improvements across the detection and response lifecycle.

A key part of the role is validating how well our security controls perform against modern threats. Through adversary emulation, purple team exercises, and continuous testing, you'll identify weaknesses, uncover detection gaps, and provide clear recommendations to improve resilience. You'll also support incident response activities, using threat intelligence and attack insights to strengthen investigations, response processes, and future readiness.

What You’ll Bring

We're looking for someone with strong experience in cyber threat intelligence, detection engineering, cyber defence, vulnerability management, incident response, or threat-led testing. You'll have a deep understanding of attacker tactics and techniques, experience working with SIEM and SOAR technologies, and a strong knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework across both Enterprise and ICS environments. Exposure to OT/ICS security and standards such as IEC 62443 would be highly beneficial.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
