An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Active Directory Engineer to join a leading global law firm on an initial 5-month contract.
PLEASE NOTE - This contract will fall inside IR35
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, Domain Controllers, authentication and identity services.
- Administer and support Microsoft Azure and Entra services, including Conditional Access, Entra Connect, Microsoft Authenticator, Intune, Windows Defender for Identity and role/group management.
- Maintain and enhance core infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance and resilience.
- Monitor infrastructure, troubleshoot issues proactively and implement improvements to minimise service disruption.
- Lead infrastructure changes, application deployments and platform upgrades while following change management and service management processes.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including system procedures, knowledge articles and root cause analysis.
- Support capacity planning, service monitoring and lifecycle management of core platforms.
- Work closely with Information Security to maintain compliance across the server estate.
- Contribute to infrastructure roadmaps, technology improvements and automation initiatives using PowerShell.
- Provide technical leadership by mentoring team members, coordinating operational activities and supporting project delivery.

- 5+ years' experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI and Windows Server technologies.
- Experience managing Microsoft Azure and Entra services, including identity and access management.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills, including creating, testing and maintaining automation.
- Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, clustering, server migrations, upgrades and security patching.
- Experience delivering infrastructure projects and managing operational priorities.
- Understanding of IT service management principles and change control processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Microsoft certifications in Active Directory, Azure or related technologies, or equivalent experience.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent practical experience.
