Position: Activities and Leisure Shift Leader

Type

Full-Time / Part-Time / Seasonal

Pay Rates

Up to £12.71 per hour (additional £1 per hour when leading a shift)

About the Role

Join our One Great Team here at Haven as an Activities & Leisure Shift Leader, where you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional experiences across our swimming pool and activities. In this role, you'll be at the heart of an energetic team, leading assigned shifts with clear direction and plenty of motivation. You'll inspire your team to provide fantastic guest experiences and high-quality standards, whilst ensuring everything stays safe, compliant, and on point with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the team by assigning tasks, ensuring smooth workflow, and motivating team members to deliver excellent service
  • Provide prompt, professional guest service, addressing complaints and special requests
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations to promote a safe and enjoyable environment
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of pool equipment, facilities, and activities areas
  • Supervise and motivate the team, promoting a positive, fun, and safe work environment
  • Ensure all safety guidelines are followed, including proper use of equipment and adherence to company guidance
  • Assist in training new team members on company policies and procedures
  • Participate in team duties whilst stepping up as the shift leader when assigned

Requirements

  • Experience as a Senior Lifeguard, Team Leader, or Supervisor in a leisure, sports, activities, or recreation setting is preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to conducting thorough safety checks and full compliance with safety guidelines
  • Ability to maintain focus and act quickly in emergency situations
  • Committed to providing high-quality, customer-focused service
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and bank holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • National Pool Management Qualification (NPMQ)
  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
  • Swimming Pool Technical Operator Qualification (SPTO)
  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Training Assessor (NPLQ TA)

Full training and courses will be available to the right candidate to ensure the highest standards are upheld when leading shifts.

This opportunity requires the successful candidate to undergo and satisfactorily complete an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting work.
