Job Overview
To plan and carry out social/recreational activities on a group and individual basis with service users on the unit.
The post holder will assist in the planning of a unit individual and group activity programme, which may require working with other members of the ward staff.
Main Duties of the Job
- To plan, organise and carry out independently a varied programme of recreational and social activities providing group and individual sessions.
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Able to explain the value for service users in engaging in activity
Desirable criteria
- NVQ level 3/or equivalent or Certificate in Community Mental Health
Experience
Essential criteria
- Interest in mental health issues
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working with or contact with client group or in a rehabilitation setting
- Previous experience of planning and carrying out activity groups
Attributes
Essential criteria
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Effective communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working within a team
