Barton House Care Home is a specialist 24-hour nursing service supporting 15 adults living with complex mental health conditions. Set within a homely, supportive environment, the home focuses on person-centred care, stability, and meaningful daily living, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and individual support.


Activities Coordinator Contract

  • Hourly Rate: £12.71
  • Contracted Hours: 18 hours per week
  • Shift Pattern: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
  • Benefits: Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided, 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full-time contract

Role Overview

Barton House is transitioning into an all-male service, and we are looking for an Activities Coordinator to play an important role in supporting individuals living with complex mental health needs.

You will plan and deliver engaging, meaningful, and person-centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence, and social interaction. Activities will be tailored to individual interests, abilities, and care needs, with a focus on supporting working-age adults with complex mental illness.

Building positive relationships is essential, helping you understand individual preferences, interests, and support needs to encourage inclusive participation. You will plan both individual and group activities, supporting residents to remain active, engaged, and connected with their local community.

A full driving licence is preferred, as the role may involve driving the home's minibus to support residents with outings, activities, and appointments.


What We Are Looking For

  • A creative, organised, and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, person-centred activities
  • Previous experience supporting working-age adults with complex mental health needs is preferred
  • A full driving licence with confidence driving a minibus is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • A genuine interest in supporting individuals to maintain independence, wellbeing, and meaningful connections
