Bowood Court & Mews Care Home is a modern residential, dementia, and respite care home in Redditch, Worcestershire. With beautifully designed living spaces, sensory gardens, and a vibrant programme of activities, our dedicated team creates a welcoming environment where residents are supported to enjoy every day.

Activities Coordinator Contract

  • £12.85 per hour
  • Contracted to 22 hours per week
  • Paid DBS, pension, and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
  • Ongoing training, development, and career progression within a supportive and rewarding care environment.

Role Overview

As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing residents' wellbeing by delivering engaging, meaningful, and person-centred activities that promote independence, choice, and social interaction.

  • You will plan, organise, and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and life experiences.
  • Working closely with residents, families, and colleagues, you will encourage participation, support hobbies, organise seasonal events, outings, and community activities, helping residents remain active, connected, and engaged.
  • You will ensure activities are delivered safely by following Health & Safety, infection prevention, and risk assessment procedures, while maintaining accurate activity records and adapting programmes to meet residents' changing needs.
  • Through creativity, compassion, and teamwork, you will help create a welcoming environment where every resident feels valued and included.

What We Are Looking For

  • A creative, enthusiastic, and organised individual with a passion for enriching the lives of older people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging group and one-to-one activities tailored to individual needs and preferences.
  • Understanding of person-centred care, promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, infection prevention, and safe activity delivery.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and adapt activities to residents' changing needs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in activities, care, hospitality, events, childcare, or a similar role is desirable; however, candidates with transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
