Are you a confident person who enjoys planning and coordinating activities? We have an exciting new job vacancy for two Activity Co-ordinators at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage. The vacancies are for evening and weekend working, we can consider flexible working requests.
About Cygnet Hospital Stevenage
Cygnet Hospital Stevenage offers a range of mental health services for adults with complex needs, including Medium secure, low secure, PICU and Acute wards. The hospital is a purpose-built therapeutic environment, where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery.
The hospital has a range of therapeutic resources so that people can develop their life skills and participate in leisure activities. This includes a gym, large multipurpose outdoor space (tennis, football etc), a music studio, social hub and garden.

The Successful Candidate Should Be/have
- Experience in the field of mental health or secure environments.
- A good understanding of risk assessment and management.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Excellent relational security awareness and professional boundaries.
The Way You Will Be Spending Your Time Is
- Co-producing and running activities on wards and therapeutic spaces.
- Facilitating diversional activities (1:1 and in group). EXAMPLE: Art, music, walking group and film night.
- Coordinating theme days/celebrations. EXAMPLE: Christmas, Diwali, Halloween, Prom, Anniversaries and Easter.
- Recording meaningful engagement on MyPath.
- Completing activity risk assessments with NIC/staff on shift.
The simplest, easiest way to see that this job is being done is:
- Individuals are engaged in activities on the unit & 80% of AC time is spent in direct contact with individuals.
- Evidence of theme/celebrations days on the unit.
- 90% of individuals achieve at least 25 hours of meaningful activity.
- Recording to be at the level of at least one entry per week per individual within the service.
- Activity risk assessments are visible on MyPath.

Requirements
The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
