Valayo is working with a leading UK General Insurer on a senior opportunity to lead and further develop their Model Validation function.

One of the biggest attractions of this role is the flexibility around how and where you work, offering a genuinely flexible setup alongside a senior actuarial leadership position and strong work-life balance.

  • You'll take ownership of the Validation function and wider Model Risk Management, with the opportunity to shape the validation framework, determine the scope and plan of activity, and influence how validation continues to develop across the business.
  • The role also offers significant senior stakeholder exposure. You'll work closely with the Chief Actuary, CRO, and Head of Capital, while presenting key findings and recommendations to Committees and Boards.
  • There's plenty of variety across the position, with involvement in risk appetite, stress and scenario testing, ORSA, regulatory work, and risk and capital assessments for new products and propositions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
