Job Title: Actuarial Manager

Target Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until the end of 2027

Salary Range: c£95,000 Dependent on Experience

Location: Flexible

Actuarial Manager

We are seeking an experienced capital modelling professional to join our Capital Modelling team on a fixed-term basis. You will play a key role in the independent validation of market and default risk models developed by Ageas Group and support the delivery of a UK Internal Model Major Change. This is a high-profile opportunity to contribute to strategically important work within an established Solvency II Internal Model environment.

Working closely with colleagues across Capital Modelling, Risk, Investments and Finance, you will help ensure that the Internal Model remains robust, well governed and fit for purpose. While this is not a people management role, you will be expected to provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced team members.

Main Responsibilities as Actuarial Manager:

  • Lead validation of market risk and default risk models developed by Ageas Group.
  • Support the delivery of a UK Internal Model Major Change.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced team members.
  • Produce clear reports, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Present findings to senior stakeholders, governance committees and reviewers.

Skills and experience you need as Actuarial Manager:

  • Experience within a capital modelling function.
  • Strong understanding of Solvency II and Internal Models.
  • Proven ability to help other team members in delivering goals.
  • Significant experience in one or more of Internal Model Major Change or application activities, Validation of market risk models, or Validation of default risk or credit risk models.
  • Experience producing technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
