Are you a qualified actuary with a passion for modelling, analytics and solving complex risk challenges?

At Pool Re, we're looking for an experienced Actuary to join our Actuarial team and help shape the future of terrorism risk modelling in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of specialist risk analysis, contributing to innovative modelling solutions that support our members, stakeholders and wider business.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the development and enhancement of actuarial models using Python and Tyche
  • Contributing to pricing, risk analysis and model validation activities
  • Developing and maintaining analytical tools and processes
  • Applying statistical techniques to support decision-making and risk assessment
  • Working closely with colleagues across underwriting, exposure management and consultancy teams
  • Helping Pool Re continue its ambition of being the authoritative expert in terrorism modelling and risk awareness

What we're looking for

  • ✅ FIA qualified actuary
  • ✅ Strong actuarial modelling and analytical skills
  • ✅ Advanced Excel and VBA capability
  • ✅ Experience of Python or a strong willingness to develop coding expertise
  • ✅ Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • ✅ Experience within general insurance, reinsurance, pricing, capital modelling or risk/exposure modelling
