Adaptation & Resilience Pricing Analyst
Location: London
Contract Type: Permanent
Work Pattern: Full Time and Hybrid
MS Amlin’s ESG Re team is expanding rapidly to meet demand for innovative (re)insurance solutions that build resilience to climate risks, nature loss, socio-economic fragility, and other systemic risks. We are seeking a commercially astute Risk Assessment & Pricing Specialist (actuarial, analytical, modelling, or reinsurance pricing background) to build technical capability and scale global growth.
At MS Amlin, Sustainability is integral to how we grow profitably and responsibly, balancing business value with societal impact and the environment. Our goal is to make resilience insurable, scalable, and commercially sustainable. This role suits someone who enjoys collaborating on complex risks while contributing to profitable growth and positive impact.
This role will act as the dedicated risk assessment and pricing capability for ESG Re and will be closely aligned with the Actuarial Pricing team. You will support the Head of Sustainability, ESG Re team, and Reinsurance function, applying structured analysis to emerging market risks, where insurance affordability and availability remain limited.
You will combine quantitative analysis with commercial judgment, supporting new revenue streams and deliver commercially grounded solutions. The role contributes to closing the global protection gap while enabling resilience and long-term value creation.
About the Job
As a Risk & Pricing Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting underwriting with technically robust, commercially informed insights, particularly across innovative resilience and adaptation solutions, spanning climate change, nature loss, evolving global health, conflict, migration, and other systemic risks. While no two days are alike, here’s a snapshot of key responsibilities:
- Assess technical submissions spanning climate, nature, health, conflict & systemic risks, including exposure evaluation, structure review, expected loss estimation & rate-on-line guidance.
- Analyse data to build robust, transparent risk assessments & pricing approaches that support business objectives & enable scalable, commercially viable solutions.
- Challenge data, assumptions, catastrophe outputs & pricing methodologies to ensure technical rigour & alignment with MS Amlin’s view of risk and its Sustainability Strategy.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to the Head of Sustainability & Senior Underwriters, offering insight into expected loss calculations, pricing & renewal considerations, and treaty and portfolio structures including layer terms, loss histories & accumulation.
- Translate unconventional or development-driven proposals into clear, insurable structures with disciplined pricing, strengthening ESG Re's ability to convert pipeline opportunities into bound business.
- Support the ESG Re Team in structuring innovative products (parametric, index-based, blended-finance-backed, sovereign risk pools, community schemes) that support adaptation finance and inclusive growth.
- Support market engagement by preparing technical insights for discussions with brokers, multilaterals, NGOs & humanitarians; help articulate our pricing rationale, risk appetite & product value propositions in the context of systemic risk reduction.
- Work cross-functionally across pricing, model development, data improvement and wider Sustainability initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
