ADAS Regulation Engineer

As the automotive industry continues its transformation towards intelligent and automated vehicle technologies, we are seeking an ADAS Regulation Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring our innovative driver assistance and automated driving systems meet global legislative and regulatory requirements.
About the Role
As an ADAS Regulation Engineer, you will define and lead the legislation validation roadmap for current and future ADAS features across Aston Martin’s product portfolio. Working at the intersection of engineering, regulation, and government affairs, you will ensure our technologies are compliant, certification-ready, and aligned with evolving global standards while enabling the delivery of world-class customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the legislation validation roadmap for current and future ADAS features.
- Monitor emerging regulatory developments and translate complex legislative requirements into clear technical guidance for engineering teams.
- Help identify and mitigate compliance risks throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Actively represent Aston Martin within industry and regulatory forums, engaging with key stakeholders, government bodies, and manufacturers’ associations to influence future regulations and support the company’s strategic interests.
- Work closely with ADAS engineers, legal and compliance specialists, certification authorities, and external partners to provide expert interpretation of regulatory standards.
- Ensure legislative requirements are fully embedded within product development activities.
- Lead relevant ADAS homologation and type approval activities, including the development of technical documentation, certification evidence, and witness testing with authorities such as the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) and other global approval bodies.
- Support the development of next-generation automated driving technologies by translating regulatory test methodologies into practical engineering requirements and compliance strategies.
- Oversee pre-homologation vehicle testing activities, support certification programmes, and ensure compliance across multiple international markets.

Required Qualifications
- Substantial experience within ADAS development.
- Strong background in vehicle regulations, homologation, or governmental affairs.
- Proven track record working with automated driving and advanced driver assistance legislation.
- Deep understanding of the global regulatory landscape.
- Experience engaging with organizations such as UNECE, SMMT, ACEA, OICA, VDA, NHTSA, the European Commission, Type Approval Authorities, and other regulatory bodies will be highly advantageous.
