Our client is an established Bristol-based charity supporting people experiencing significant disadvantage, trauma and social exclusion to move towards greater stability and independence.
About the Role
The Recovery Caseworker will join a specialist casework team, providing person-centred support to individuals experiencing complex challenges associated with substance use, exploitation and health inequalities. The role will help clients engage with appropriate treatment and recovery pathways, including prescribing services, detoxification and rehabilitation, while working closely with partner agencies and internal caseworkers to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes. This is a varied frontline position combining one-to-one casework, multi-agency working, outreach and practical support. It would suit someone who is compassionate, creative, values-led and confident working with people facing multiple and complex disadvantages.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist, person-centred casework to individuals experiencing complex needs and barriers to accessing support.
- Support clients to identify recovery goals and access appropriate treatment, health and rehabilitation services.
- Help individuals navigate relevant treatment pathways, including prescribing, detoxification and residential rehabilitation where appropriate.
- Build trusted, consistent and professional relationships with clients using trauma-informed approaches.
- Work collaboratively with partner organisations and commissioned services to coordinate effective support.
- Advocate for clients and help them access appropriate healthcare, treatment and other specialist services.
- Work closely with fellow caseworkers to provide joined-up and responsive support.
- Identify and respond to health inequalities affecting people experiencing significant social exclusion.
- Maintain appropriate case records and contribute to monitoring outcomes.
- Participate in a monthly evening outreach shift, with time off in lieu provided.
- Participate in an evening on-call rota, typically once every few months.
- Contribute to a supportive, reflective and trauma-informed team environment.

Qualifications
- Experience supporting people experiencing complex needs, multiple disadvantage or significant barriers to accessing services.
- Ability to deliver person-centred, trauma-informed and non-judgemental support.
- Understanding of recovery pathways and the challenges associated with problematic substance use.
- Ability to work effectively with external agencies and multidisciplinary partners.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to advocate effectively for people experiencing health and social inequalities.
- Creative and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a casework team.
- Commitment to equality, inclusion and reducing disadvantage.
- An Enhanced DBS disclosure will be required.

Pay range and compensation package
- Salary: £33,558 per annum
