About the Role
We are looking to recruit 2 permanent band 7 ADHD Senior Practitioner. We will consider candidates who are currently undergoing their NMP (Non-Medical Prescribing) training and obtaining their (v300) at University. Please do apply if you are currently training or about to start.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the ADHD Team, within Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust as part of this developing service.
Responsibilities
- Primary Function: Carry out diagnostic assessments of children and young people referred to the service.
- Prescribing and Review: Responsible for prescribing and review of ADHD medication.
- Experience and Training:
- Understanding and experience of working with ADHD is required.
- Training and support will be provided.
- Clinical Skills: Expected to have clinical skills training.
- Flexibility: Expected to work flexibly across team bases according to service needs and use mobile technology to enable this.

Key Tasks
- Develop and provide an innovative specialist service for children, young people, and their families who need assessing for a potential diagnosis or ADHD, then provide aftercare if treatment is required.
- Offer sensitive support, advice to families, children, or young people who have Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ADHD) before, during, and after diagnosis.
- Provide ongoing 1-to-1 healthcare, behavior management advice to families and children/young people within the post holder’s expertise.
- Act as a point of contact for families throughout the process of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Act as a specialist information, advisory, and training resource to healthy, children’s schools, families, and other voluntary and statutory service providers.
