Hours Per Week: 17.5hrs per week. 9am-12pm Mon to Thurs and 9am-3pm Fri (with 30 minute break)

Job/Person Summary
We are looking for a new Admin Assistant to join our successful team. We are a diverse and unique setting in the heart of Southsea, committed to delivering excellent outcomes for all our children. Our Admin Team play a crucial role in supporting all areas of our school and nursery and are based in the main school office.
We are looking for someone with experience in a customer-facing environment to take on this busy and varied role. Ideally, you’ll have a school background but this is not essential. You will greet visitors, parents and children arriving at our setting and as part of your role you will be the first point of contact for parents in relation to attendance. You will monitor lateness and absences and liaise with parents when children are absence from school, making referrals to the school attendance team when necessary. Our Admin Team work across the school and nursery, so you will also record attendance, order school lunches, book sessions for our Before and After School Clubs and assist parents of children attending our Nursery, both in person and over the telephone.
What are we looking for in an Admin Assistant?
- someone with grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- someone with high standards of both written and spoken literacy
- someone who is confident in using IT, especially Microsoft Office applications
- someone with excellent communication skills who can talk confidently with staff, pupils, parents and the wider community
- someone who is organised and able to prioritise your workload
- someone who is flexible in working practices and uses their initiative to work independently where appropriate
- someone who is able to work under pressure and multi-task whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
