As an Admin Assistant at Specsavers, you’ll be organised and equipped to tackle a variety of tasks, including all aspects of optical administration including NHS forms and triaging, answering calls and general queries, updating & filing records, booking appointments and diary management. The aim is to provide a top-notch administrative service that will support the store’s success.  

Our store

Specsavers Ashford is a customer-focused opticians providing professional eye-care and hearing services to the local community. The store offers comprehensive eye examinations, sight tests, contact lens consultations and fittings, as well as the dispensing and fitting of glasses and sunglasses. The team also provides hearing tests and hearing-care services, combining clinical expertise with friendly, personalised customer service to help customers find the right products and solutions for their individual needs.

Our team

The Ashford store is supported by a team of dedicated colleagues who bring a great blend of experience, energy, and customer‑focused commitment to their roles. They work closely together to create a positive, supportive, and friendly atmosphere, ensuring customers feel welcomed and well looked after. With strong teamwork and a shared pride in delivering excellent service, the team plays a vital part in making the store an enjoyable place to both work and shop.

What we’re looking for?  

If this is something you’re interested in, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Admin Assistant. These include:  

  • Previous experience in an administrative role preferred but not required - retail experience is desireable
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear and professional written communication (emails, letters, reports)
  • Confident verbal communication with colleagues and customers
  • Good telephone manner
  • Positive, proactive attitude
  • Strong customer-service mindset
