Job Title: Admin Support Assistant

Location: Kidlington

Contract Type: 1 Year FTC

Annual Salary: £28,410

Working Pattern: Full Time

About The Role

Our client, Thames Valley Police, are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Admin Support Assistant to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) Chief Officer Group (COG).

The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the efficient operation of the office, including diary management, handling confidential communications, and coordinating various administrative tasks. This position is perfect for an individual who thrives in a supportive role and enjoys multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth administrative operations within the OPCC by handling general support functions, including responding to external inquiries and managing HR, IT, and facilities-related tasks.
  • Provide dedicated and confidential administrative support to the PCC and OPCC COG, including monitoring emails and arranging events, accommodations, and travel plans.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure workload is managed effectively and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Efficiently manage the diaries of the PCC and COG members, prioritising meeting requests and optimising travel arrangements.
  • Maintain and update the OPCC SharePoint, ensuring proper electronic document filing and organisation.

Key Requirements

  • A good standard of education with a minimum of 2 GCSEs at grades A-C (or equivalent) in Numeracy and Literacy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven experience managing diverse information and solving problems with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and willingness to learn new technologies and systems.
  • Basic knowledge of operational policing and the statutory roles of Police and Crime Commissioners is desirable.
  • Must have resided within the UK continuously for the past 5 years for Police Vetting to be obtained.

Additional Information
