The post holder will be the senior point of contact for the administrative function work in Cellular Pathology office.

Undertaking a senior role in ensuring the general clerical duties are completed in a timely manner.

The post holder will be required to liaise with all grades of staff within the department and to communicate with external users of the service. They will need to work in line with the Trust and Departmental policies and procedures.

Ensure tasks for the department are completed in a timely manner.

  • To train new and junior staff under the direction of the Service Manager
  • To participate in the Business Continuity Plan for the department.
  • Help facilitate the introduction of new technology and new working practices to ensure the smooth running of the department when appropriate.
  • Escalate issues as needed to the service manager.
  • Line Management responsibility for junior administrative team including the authorisation of annual leave with support from the service manager.
