Our Third Party Administration (TPA) department is a dynamic administration team with a varied portfolio of clients. They play a key part in providing our clients and members with a market-leading service on Defined Benefits (DB), Defined Contribution (DC) and CARE pension arrangements.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join this department as an Administration Consulting Analyst, within our Data Journey team in our Birmingham, Edinburgh or Glasgow Office.
What will your role look like?
You will support the delivery and successful implementation of pensions administration projects for both new and existing clients across our national Third-Party Administration function. Working closely with internal teams and stakeholders, you will help to understand project requirements, analyse operational needs, and contribute to defining the scope, objectives and approach for each project to support successful delivery.
Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:
- Deliver pensions administration services and project work across a portfolio of TPA client projects.
- Act as a point of reference for complex or non-standard project cases.
- Support business development activities, including opportunities to secure new projects and bespoke client administration work where appropriate.
- Complete allocated tasks in line with agreed project plans and timescales.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and service delivery.
- Monitor time spent on assignments to support effective project management and profitability.
- Adhere to and contribute to the firm's professional standards and quality frameworks, including peer review processes, model quality standards and best practice guidance.
- Draft and review project reports, and present findings and recommendations to colleagues and clients as required.
To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience working in UK pensions operations and administration.
- Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to both Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) pension arrangements.
- Experience of data cleansing and rectification projects, including completing complex calculations.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and experience using pensions administration systems.
- Strong analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience managing projects to agreed deadlines, quality standards, scope and budget.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with clients, colleagues and stakeholders across different functions and levels of an organisation.
- Ability to present and communicate complex findings clearly and provide recommendations to scheme trustees and non-technical audiences.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
