Connect to Work is a government-funded employment programme that requires the postholder to maintain and update spreadsheets, manage customer records within the CRM database, and process referrals through the PRaP system. The role involves maintaining accurate electronic and paper-based records, ensuring documentation is readily available for advisers and that programme requirements are met. In addition, the postholder will be responsible for processing financial transactions through the Oracle Fusion system and supporting the smooth administration of employment programme activities.
Key Duties:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the team, including answering telephone enquiries, greeting visitors, handling correspondence, photocopying, filing, word processing, and taking minutes at meetings.
- Maintain and update complex spreadsheets, CRM databases, and participant records, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and that all programme documentation is completed correctly and within required timescales.
- Process and administer referrals through the DWP PRaP system, including programme starts, report generation, record management, and the provision of statistical information to support funding claims and contract requirements.
- Complete financial transactions using the Oracle Fusion system, including raising and receipting purchase orders and invoices, while also supporting the development and updating of programme documentation to ensure effective programme delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
