Administrative Assistant
Does the idea of working as part of a dynamic and highly motivated team appeal to you? The 4C’s (Children’s Commissioning Consortium Cymru) has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant, who will provide effective and efficient business administrator support. You will be part of a committed team who are focused on achieving the best outcomes for children and young people looked after across Wales.
The 4C’s is a busy team with a varied workload providing a national commissioning service to all 22 Welsh local authorities and managing the All-Wales Frameworks for both independent Foster and Residential Placements. This is supplemented by a range of diverse policy projects, commissioned training, and our active Young Commissioners Group.
The 4C’s is looking for someone who is motivated, well-organised, has excellent communication skills, attention to detail, able to prioritise and is a real team player who will be able to support the team by;
- Arranging local, regional and national forums, conferences and events.
- Being the first point of call for the 4Cs team which will include responding to general telephone and email queries or signposting within the team as appropriate.
- Preparing agendas, taking minutes of meetings and managing action logs.
- Reconciling invoices.
The ideal candidate would be able to effectively communicate via email, telephone, Microsoft Teams and face to face. Have good communication skills, both verbal and written, responding to people in a professional and tactful manner. Essential job skills include computer literacy (preferably Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and use of Eventbrite).

The team is hosted by RCTCBC and is based in Merthyr Tydfil, and the post is office based, 5 days per week but with some opportunity for flexible working when necessary.
As this is a national post, there will be a requirement to be able to travel independently across Wales to provide business support at large conferences or events facilitated by the team.
Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council.
In addition to this safeguarding responsibility, the successful applicant for this role will also be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.
