- King Edward VI School
- Address: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP33 3BH
- Salary: Grade 3 SCP 4-6, £15,959 per annum (pay award pending)
- Hours: 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 3.30pm, 39 weeks per year
- Contract: Fixed Term until 31 August 2027, required as soon as possible
- Reference: 5520
King Edward VI School are looking for an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support within a busy school setting.
You will also be part of the Lunchtime Supervisor team, carrying out a daily duty.
You will:
- work with a range of teaching and support staff to administer and co-ordinate a variety of tasks including correspondence to parents and students
- support the school’s extra-curricular provision
- support Duke of Edinburgh administration requirements
- ensure safety of students within a duty zone
- report any safeguarding concerns following school policy
- encourage positive student behaviour.
You will need:
- strong administrative skills, using a variety of IT
- excellent communication skills
- attention to detail
- the ability to forge positive relationships with students.

About us
King Edward VI CEVC School is a successful, oversubscribed 11-16 school. We are situated in the historic town of Bury St Edmunds (‘the jewel in the crown of Suffolk’), surrounded by beautiful countryside – just over an hour by train to London, and close links to the A14.
