Administrative Assistant (Chaplaincy)

We are an interfaith Chaplaincy Department working with students and staff of all faiths and worldviews, religious or not.

This role is to support the running of our diverse offer.

About The Role

We are seeking a Administrative Assistant who can:

  • help the team book and run interfaith events in our faith spaces and other university settings.
  • interact with Student/Staff enquiries.
  • manage the admin required for voluntary and staff appointments.
  • provide support on managing and coding the financial running of the Chaplaincy and Interfaith spending.
  • co-manage diaries and calendars,
  • provide other Admin Support for the department in discussion with the Co-ordinating Faith Leader.

An understanding and sympathy of inter-faith and world views would be essential in our diverse and inclusive department.

About You

You will

  • be excited by the idea of working in an inter-faith environment interacting with Students and Staff of all faiths and worldviews, religious or not.
  • have good organisational skills and be able to manage a diverse workload.
  • interact well with our team and students/staff and be able to process requests made, responding well to situations often of a reactionary nature.
  • be familiar with standard office software and be prepared to learn university systems and portals with support given.
  • have understanding of basic financial reporting or be prepared to learn how to process receipts and invoices.
  • enjoy helping to facilitate and maybe join in our interfaith events which we run with our faith societies.
  • sometimes be the first point of contact for students/staff so need to be sensitive in relating to situations that arise.
  • understand the importance of inclusion and diversity at the university and embrace the support we offer to all people regardless of faith, gender and sexuality.
