About the role
The Medical Technology Research Group (MTRG) at LSE Health, London School of Economics and Political Science, is looking for a highly organised and proactive Administrative Assistant / Event Coordinator to start immediately.
You will support the planning and delivery of a series of workshops in London and internationally. You will manage a wide range of administrative and logistical tasks so that every event runs smoothly and professionally, from early planning through to post-event follow-up. You will work closely with MTRG colleagues and LSE Consulting.
Key details
- Contract: full-time, fixed-term (12 months), with the opportunity for renewal
- Start date: immediate
- Working pattern: hybrid, based in London, with occasional support for international travel
- Salary: competitive, depending on experience
- Reports to: Director and Associate Director, Medical Technology Research Group

Key responsibilities
Workshop planning and logistics
- Coordinate the organisation of workshops in the UK and internationally
- Manage room bookings and liaise with venues on setup requirements
- Arrange catering in line with event needs
- Support travel and logistical arrangements for events, as required
Stakeholder coordination
- Liaise with internal teams, partners and external stakeholders to support event delivery
- Coordinate communications with participants and partners
- Circulate pre-workshop materials in a timely and organised way
Event delivery
- Ensure rooms are set up appropriately
- Provide on-site administrative and logistical support during workshops
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise so events run smoothly
Post-event administration
- Organise and distribute certificates and follow-up materials
- Maintain accurate records of participants and event outputs
- Support reporting and documentation as required

What we're looking for
Essential
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail
- Experience coordinating events, workshops or meetings
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desirable
- Experience supporting international events or working with global stakeholders
- Familiarity with academic, policy or professional workshop environments
